Welcome changes to the Legal Profession Act (Vic) allow Victoria's 2,700 in-house lawyers to join the pro bono cause.
The National Pro Bono Resource Centre and the Public Interest Law Clearing House (Vic), together with DLA Piper, invite you to attend a forum on the recent amendments to the Act and what In-House Counsel need to know to kick start their own pro bono projects.
We will be joined by The Honourable Robert Clark, Attorney-General and Minister for Finance, Parliament of Victoria, who will discuss recent legislative reforms which clear the way for in-house lawyers in Victoria to do pro bono work. Michael Coleman, Telstra General Counsel, will share Telstra's experience and insights to assist in-house Counsel embark upon their own pro bono journey.
The event will also launch the National Pro Bono Resource Centre Insurance Scheme for in-house pro bono work In Victoria and guests will receive a copy of DLA Piper's 'Australian In-House Legal Counsel Pro Bono Guide 2012'.
