Iain Byrne will speak on NGOs & public interest litigation. Iain is a Senior Lawyer and currently acting Legal Practice Director with Interights. He has been involved in litigation before domestic courts, the UN Human Rights Committee, the European Court of Human Rights and the European Social Rights Committee. He has authored numerous human rights publications and sat on various NGO boards.
Patrick Dillon-Malone BL will speak on rules of standing. Patrick is a barrister with expertise in human rights and EU law, who acted for the Irish Human Rights Commission in the recent "Digital Rights" case. He is a former adviser to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, a contributing author to "ECHR and Irish Law" (Kilkelly) and sits on the editorial board of the Bar Review.
Brian Kennelly will speak on protective costs orders. Brian is a barrister at the leading public law and human rights set Blackstone Chambers in London. Brian has extensive experience, called a "star performer" by the Legal 500. He has appeared before domestic courts, the European Court of Justice and the European Court of Human Rights. He acted in the lead English case on protective costs orders "Cornerhouse".
