The Deferred Associates Fair being sponsored by VLJ is the first of its kind to connect these associates and the firms with understaffed and underfunded New Jersey public interest law organizations eager for their assistance. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the work of the organizations in attendance and participate in brief initial interviews with agencies of their choice.
At the event, Newark Mayor Cory A. Booker will talk of his experience working with public interest organizations as a Skadden Fellow and the tremendous impact these associates would have on the revitalization of New Jerseys poorest communities. Jack E. Pace III, a Partner in the Global Competition and Commercial Litigation Groups of White & Case, one of the top tier, international law firms offering their deferred associates stipends to work in the public interest arena, will speak about this latest law firm trend with regard to deferred associates, and his personal experience in public interest work.
